Illuminating the Path of Progress in the 21st Century
Technological breakthroughs are no longer a thing of the past. In the 21st century there are a few inventions which are common objects in our everyday lives. The internet, cell phones, and computer technology are a few examples of inventions that are paving the road of progress.
For example, the cell phone has evolved from being an expensive portable phone to an inexpensive data, e-mail, and voice service that almost anyone can afford. At the rate cell phones are evolving they may one day replace in home phone services. Years ago they were bulky and required large batteries with a carrying case. Today’s cell phones are made to fit in your pocket comfortably.
Another example of today’s high-tech inventions is the internet. Almost everywhere you look companies are listing their website address. This relatively inexpensive source of advertisement offers consumers the convenience of shopping anytime right from their own home. Consumers can purchase everything from groceries to a car online.
Lastly, there is computer technology. Toy companies are already incorporating computer chips in children’s toys. The automotive industry has computer systems installed in cars that lets the driver know if the tire pressure is low, a headlight is out, or what the temperature is inside and outside of the car. It is only a matter of time before computer technology will be integrated into robots which resemble humans.
