Adolescence has been called the most difficult stage of the human being. It is a time of transition that every young person has to deal with. Today’s youth have grown up with the threat of a war, drug and alcohol within reach, teenage pregnancies, and violence everywhere. In addition to undergo those factors, adolescents experience a search for identity. Frank Chin’s Donald Duk tells the story of a twelve-year-old that is burdened by his name and embarrassed by his Chinese heritage. At the end he finds out the true story of his legacy and this uphold him to take a firm step into his boyhood.
