Ivan Ogareff , ancien colonnel dans l?arm? du Tzar, coupable de fromenter des intrigues contre le gouverment , fut exil? en Siberie. Il est graci? par le Tzar, apr?s six mois de d?portation. Loin d??tre reconnaissant au Tzar il cherche ? se venger de l?archiduc, fr?re du Tzar , Gouverneur d?Irkoutsk capital de la Siberie orientale et ? qui il doit sa disgrace. Pour se venger, il soul?ve la population Tartare limitroffe . Pour isoler la Siberie du reste du pays il coupe tous les fils t?l?graphiques . Pour avertir son fr?re des desseins de Yvan Ogareff, le Tzar doit envoyer un courrier en Siberie . Michel Strogoff. , orginaire de Siberie est choisit pour ?tre ce courrier.
En route pour la Siberie, munie d?un laisser passer au nom de Nicolas Karpanoff , n?gociant ,il vient au secours d?une jeune fille, Nadia .Il l?a fait passer pour sa soeur afin de tromper ses ennemis et de passer inaper?u.
A quelques kilometres de Omsk Michel Strogoff est pris dans un orage et vient au secours de 2 journalistes un Fran?ais l?autre Anglais avec qui il fit une partie du voyage . Lors de la traversee du fleuve Irytche, l?embarcation de Michel Strogoff est attaqu?e par les Tartares , Michel bless? est entrain? par courant et Nadia est faite prisionni?re. Michel secouru par un Moujik, reste trois jours sans connaissance. Puis,il reprend la route et arrive ? Omsk o? sa m?re le reconnait, mais Michel la renie. Ivan Orageff est mis au courant de l?incident, il connait maintenant la m?re du courrier et la fait prisonniere.
Peu avant Tomsk Michel est fait prisonnier des Tartares avec les deux journalistes, Ivan Ogareff arrive dans le camp avec ses prisonniers dont la m?re de Michel et Nadia. Nadia reconna?t Michel. Ivan est mis au courant et fait fouetter la m?re afin que Michel se d?voile. Ce qu?il fait. Michel est comdamm? ? la c?cit?, Ivan Ogareff s?empare de la lettre que Michel devait remettre au fr?re du Tzar. Nadia a pu s??chap?e .Elle vient au secours de Michel et lui sert de yeux pour accomplir sa mission.. Pendant leur voyage ils sont ? nouveau au main des Tartares.Michel et Nadia s?enfuit . Enfin apr?s bien des p?riples ils arrivent ? Irkoutz pour apprendre que Ivan Ogareff c??tait fait pass? pour Michel strogoff et s?apprete ? livrer la ville aux Tartare. Apr?s une lutte acharn?e. Le traite est tu? par Michel Strogoff (qui n??tait pas aveugle mais qui simulait la c?cit? pour passer inapercu).
Le roman finit par la victoire du Grand Duc et le marriage de Michel avec Nadia (qui a retrouv? son p?re). Et tous les deux vont ? Omsk embrasser la m?re de Michel avant de retourner ? Moscou .
J?ai beaucoup aim? ce livre. Je trouve qu?il ?tait remplit d?action et de suspence.La g?ographie ?tait un peu compliqu? a comprendre ,mais,sans elle ,Jules Vernes n?aurait pa pu nous fairent visiter la Russie , et nous faire d?couvrir la beaut? sauvage de ses campagnes aussi bien.Je le recommande a tous
