Ernst Thlmann
Ernst Thlmann wurde im Jahre 1886 in Hamburg geboren. Er war ein Reichstagsabgeordneter zwischen 1924 und 1933 und der Vorsitzende der Kommunistischen Partei Deutschlands (KPD) seit 1925. Jetzt ist Ernst Thlmann schon lngst tot. Er war ein ganzer Mensch, ein standhafter Kmpfer, ein aufrechter Charakter, ein Mensch von unbeugsamem Willen, der unerschtterlich an die revolutionre Kraft der deutschen Arbeiterklasse glaubte und sein Leben fr die Sache der Arbeiter opferte.
Am 3. Mrz 1933 wurde Ernst Thlmann von der Gestapo verhaftet und ins Gefngnis Moabit geworfen, wo er bis 1937 gefangengehalten wurde.
Am 13. August 1937 wurde Thlmann aus Moabit nach dem Gefngnis Hannover gebracht. Rosa Thlmann, die ihren Mann besuchen durfte, beschreibt in einem Brief seine Zelle in diesem Gefangnis: links an der Seite steht das Bett, rechts ein kleiner Tisch und das Waschgeschirr. Flieendes Wasser ist nicht vorhanden. Ein Fenster ist in der Zellenwand, aber nicht einmal so gro, wie in den anderen Zellen; es ist extra fr ihn so umgebaut worden.
Die Gestapo schickte ins Gefngnis ihre Leute. Einer von ihnen war der Kriminalbeamte Opitz, ein bsartiger niedertrchtiger Halunke, der seine Aufgabe darin sah, Thlmann zu provozieren und zu qulen. Ernst Thlmann hatte gebeten, ihm einen der Gefangenen als Partner zum Schachspiel in seine Zelle zu schicken. Der Direktor war einverstanden. Aber Opitz lehnte ab. Ein anderes Mal hatte Ernst Thlmann nach jahrelanger Isolierung und Beschftigungslosigkeit irgend eine Arbeit gewnscht. Opitz lehnte ab. Thalmann bat, da man ihm erlaubt, etwas lnger auf dem Gefangnishof zu bleiben. Opitz lehnte ab. Thalmann, ein bermittelgroer, starker, stmmiger Mann von athletischem Krperbau, dessen Gesundheit zu beneiden war, erkrankte in diesen Verhltnissen.
Kurz nach Ernst Thlmanns 52. Geburtstag kam Opitz in seine Zelle und sagte ihm, da er drauen in der Welt v11ig vergessen worden ist, da er keine Blumen, keine Briefe, nicht einmal eine Karte zu seinem Geburtstag geschickt bekommen hat. Thlmann wute genau, da das eine Luge war, da man ihm nur nicht aushndigen wollte, was fr ihn angekommen war, aber er schwieg. Ihm schien da Opitz nicht nur deswegen gekommen war. Und wirklich: er schlug Thlmann vor, in einer Broschre zu schreiben, da er mit dem Kommunismus gebrochen hat. Thlmann antwortete: Das werden Sie von mir nie erieben.
Ein anderes Mal kam er in Thlmanns Zelle und wollte beweisen, da in der Sowjetunion alles drunter und drber geht. Ernst Thlmann erwiderte trocken: Die Sowjetunion besteht schon 20 Jahre, das Dritte Reich wird nicht so lange bestehen.
Ernst Thlmann hat klar, wie kein anderer in Deutschland, den imperialistischen Hitlerkrieg kommen sehen. Nachdem Hitler berraschend die Sowjetunion berfallen hatte, als im Herbst 1941 die Hitlerwehrmacht vor Moskau, Leningrad und Rostow stand, kamen einige SS-Leute zu Thlmann in die Zelle und sagten schadenfroh: Nun, was sagen Sie jetzt? Die Rote Armee ist zerschlagen! Es ist aus mit Sowjetruland.
Thalmann aber erwiderte diesen Bestien, da nichts seinen Glauben an den Sieg des Sowjetvolkes brechen kann.
Die Nazis lachten ihn aus. So etwas hatten sie noch nicht erlebt. Die deutschen Armeen standen vor Moskau und Leningrad, Hitler hatte ffentlich erklrt, da die Sowjetunion geschlagen ist. Und dieser Gefangene, der seit 8 Jahren von aller Welt abgeschnitten war, erlaubte sich, so etwas zu sagen.
Als sich im Jahre 1944 die Front den Grenzen Deutschlands nherte, brachten Thlmann seine Henker ins Konzentrationslager Buchenwald bei Weimar. Kurz darauf wurde er ermordet.
