Poem: Objects Essay, Research Paper
Max E. Gaytan

One object can unlock
All secrets of the world.
It can create happiness
And endless piece in the
World. It can cure diseases
That plague and
Destroy our healthy
Bodies.
It can purify our air, our
Planet’s streams, and oceans.
But if used in a wrong
Manner it can be crucial to
The humans race.
If we keep using drugs
Just to escape the reality of the horror and terror
Of the life we lead and the chaos of
The world we
Live we will all live in a world with endless hate.
When will we all learn that the
mind can be a weapon against evil or a weapon against humanity.

Man Sized Job Essay Research Paper ManSized
Man Sized Job Essay, Research Paper Man-Sized Job was written by Sharlot Hall (1870-1943). It is a poem that defines a woman?s work from a man?s point of view. Poems like this were uncommon in the late 1800?s ? early 1900?s, especially if women wrote them. The two aspects of this poem that I would like to analyze are the vocabulary used and the male chauvinistic point-of-view.

Alice Walker Question Essay, Research Paper The selection from Alice Walker deals with the coming of civil rights and the different attitudes of the old and coming generations. Walker portrays the mother figure as supportive and tough; she fills both the masculine and feminine rolls, “With fists as well as / Hands.” Images to emphasize the descriptions take up their own lines within the poem “Step,” “Hands,” “Doors,” “Shirts,” “Armies,” “Fields,” “Ditches,” “Desks,” and ending with “Themselves.” This combination of domestic and military objects emphasizes the women’s self reliance and perseverance.
