Poem: Silence Essay, Research Paper
Silence
She looked so sad in sleep,
like a friendy hand just out of reach.
As the lights went low they said, “ no one will know”
Of course that was a line of lies,
despite it all she doesn’t cry.
But when the lights went up,
It all changed, she was the slut.
She tried to leave the pain,
the harder she tried the more it stained.
She tried to leave it all behind,
instead it would just bind and bind.
She was left alone to ponder and doubt,
If there was something in the end, if everything could mend.
It indeed became too late, for help.
She saw her early fate.
They say her spirit is still wide awake.
She apparently haunts that same estate.
Where sadly, she once was raped.

Man Sized Job Essay Research Paper ManSized
Man Sized Job Essay, Research Paper Man-Sized Job was written by Sharlot Hall (1870-1943). It is a poem that defines a woman?s work from a man?s point of view. Poems like this were uncommon in the late 1800?s ? early 1900?s, especially if women wrote them. The two aspects of this poem that I would like to analyze are the vocabulary used and the male chauvinistic point-of-view.

Reel One Poem MultiReading Reaction Paper Essay
, Research Paper M. Anderson ?Reel One? 1st reading This poem is about a boy and girl who have been to see a movie. As they are walking home the boy is struck by the difference between the bright colors and high-tech sound effects of the movie, and the white snow that he sees on the walk home. He also comments on the silence, the ?sound track so dead.? He uses strong images to describe the intensity of the movie, like ?bones whistled? and ?screen shook with fire.? He seems impressed by the effects of the movie, as he says ?like life only better.? It seems a ?let-down? to him to be walking home in the quiet, white snow.

Dreams Essay, Research Paper 1 ? 11 ? 2001 ?DREAMS? ~ An Analysis The poem ?Dreams? by Cecil Frances Alexander portrays very strong imagery, and has a message that ties in with the theme of this poetry notebook. The emotion shows the speakers feelings about being asleep as to being awake. Although there is nothing original about the layout and rhyme scheme of the poem, Alexander has a way of showing ones love for this dream world in which he knows only exists in sleep.
