Группа заключила контракт с "CBS Records", на которой были подписаны и " Tremeloes". Зато с выходом дебютного альбома "Christie" ситуация поменялась, и за океаном он пользовался большей популярностью, чем у себя на родине. Содержавший два мега-хита и набор удачных поп-роковых композиций, диск задержался в штатовских чартах на 10 недель.
Чтобы закрепить успех "Christie" отправились на гастроли, которые растянулись на несколько лет. К сожалению, у Майка Блэкли было недостаточно опыта для концертной деятельности, он частенько сбивался с ритма, и его пришлось выдворить из группы. Новым ударником стал Пол Фентон (р. 4 июля 1946). В 1971 году музыкантам удалось выкроить время для записи второго альбома. Диск "For All Mankind" продемонстрировал интерес Кристи к более тяжелому саунду, замешанному на блюзе, роке и кантри. Тогда же в коллективе появился новый музыкант Лем Любин.
На следующий год "Cristie" вернулись к более попсовым, легко запоминающимся мелодиям. Новая песня, "Iron Horse", с ее цепляющим мотивом и характерным интро Вика Элмса стала очередным боевиком группы. Успех также ожидал и песню самого Элмса "Jo Jo's Band". Вик старался тоже реализовать свой композиторский талант, и при записи третьего альбома между ним и Джеффом начались разногласия. Атмосфера в коллективе накалилась, и, не выдержав этого, в 1973 году команду покинули Лем и Пол. В ответ на это Джефф объявил о роспуске группы и начале своей сольной деятельности.
Однако спустя пару месяцев он изменил свое решение и начал набор новых музыкантов под знамена "Cristie". На сей раз компанию ему составили барабанщик Терри Фогг, басист Роджер Флавелл и американский гитарист Дэнни Кригер. Этот состав выпустил пару средненьких синглов и провел небольшое турне, после чего ансамбль покинули Кригер и Фогг. Тогда по предложению Флавелла "Christie" скооперировались с участниками "Capability Brown" Тони Фергюсоном (гитара), Роджером Виллисом (ударные) и Грэмом Уайтом (гитара). Перед началом южно-американских гастролей ушел Уайт, оставив группу в виде квартета, а по окончании тура Джефф окончательно распустил команду.
