Крей Сеймур (Cray Seymour) (р. 1925, Чиппеуа-Фолс, шт. Висконсин), американский инженер-электронщик, изобретатель суперкомпьютера.
В 1950 Крей закончил Университет в Миннесоте со степенью бакалавра электротехники. Свою карьеру начал с работы на UNIVAC I, первой коммерчески выгодной электронной цифровой вычислительной машине первого поколения. В 1957 Крей способствовал основанию "Контрол Дэйта Корпорейшн" (Control Data Corp., CDC), которая стала основным производителем компьютеров своего времени. Созданные Креем большие компьютеры CDC 6600 и CDC 7600 отличались высокой операционной скоростью.
В 1972 Крей покинул CDC, чтобы организовать собственную фирму - "Крей Ресерч Инкорпорейтед" (Cray Research Inc.), которая заниманилась разработкой самых высокоскоростных компьютеров в мире. Новейшим изобретением Крея стали мультипроцессорные компьютеры, способные осуществлять одновременную (параллельную) обработку данных. Первым суперкомпьютером фирмы стал выпущенный в 1976 году "Крей-1". Он был способен осуществлять 240 миллионов вычислений в секунду и применялся для научных исследований, таких как моделирование сложных физических явлений. Такие компьютеры покупались правительственными учреждениями и универсистетскими лабораториями. Следующие модели Крея - "Крей 1-М" и "Крей Х-МР" обладали еще большим быстродействием. В 1981 году Крей снял с себя обязанности председателя своей разросшейся фирмы и стал независимым подрядчиком компании, продолжая разрабатывать в своей лаборатории в Чиппеуа-Фолс все более быстродействующие машины.
В 1985 на рынке появился "Крей-2", машина, которая могла осуществлять 1200 миллионов операций в секунду. Представленный в 1988 "Крей Y-MP" обладал быстродействием 2,670 миллионов операций в секунду.
В 1989 Крей основал "Крей Компьютер Корпорейшн" (Cray Computer Corporation), но в связи с внедрением микропроцессорных технологий и сокращением спроса на большие компьютеры со стороны военных организаций (эра холодной войны закончилась), новая компания обанкротилась в 1995 году, так и не продав ни одного компьютера.
