Young and Tragic Love
By Nicole Lewandowski
Juliet Capulet age 15 is in love with Romeo Mantague. It was love at first sight says Juliet. They met at a Ball thrown by her parents Lord & Lady Capulet. Juliet was to wed Paris a prearrange marriage. When from across the room she sees Romeo. She had stated that she did not know that her feelings were for someone from the Montague family in which the Capulet and Montagues were feuding. Juliet has stated that after the Ball she went out on her balcony to tell the stars of her forbidden love. Romeo has accidentally overhead Juliet?s conversation. Juliet stated that Romeo no longer able to be controlled, he revealed that he was listening to her tell the stars of her love. It is there Juliet says that they proclaim their love for each other and agree to marry.
Romeo has enlisted the help of Friar Lawrence and Juliet Nurse to help with the Wedding. They were wed later that day. Juliet stated that a feud broke out between Mercuito (a friend of Romeo?s) and Tybalt (a cousin of Juliet?s) in which Mercuito was killed. This made Romeo so upset that he in turn kills Tybalt.
The prince shows up at this time per Juliet and sees what Romeo has done. Romeo was banished at this time. Juliet stated she was so upset about this that she decided to enlisted help from Friar Lawrence to make a potion for her to drink to make it appear as if she were dead. Word of this was spread to Romeo and he came to her side. I will pick up this story as I heard it to be. When Romeo came to his wife and saw that she appeared dead. He took the bottle of potion and drank it himself. He died from this overdose. Juliet had awoken from her sleeping state, and saw her beloved husband lying there lifeless. She took his dagger and killed herself. This was such a tragic story of young love gone array.
