Perception Of Others Essay, Research Paper
Perception of others and myself has played a big role in my life. It has changed the way society thinks. It has us thinking twice about someone or something, before we can make an assumption. Without perception everyone would probably be boring. It was my first day at Walter J.high school. I was excited that I was finally in the ninth grade. I couldn t wait to go to class so I could meet some new faces. I had pictured high school as I ve seen it in the movies. I thought to my self this is going to be nothing but fun . The warning bell rung, which meant everyone had to be in class in 5 minutes. As I walked into class there were about thirty new faces that I had never seen before. When I sat down I began to form self- concepts about everyone in the classroom including the teacher. Basically I was judging everyone by his or her looks. The teacher told the class to get into groups of four. As we were getting into groups I met some people who I had judged just by their looks. As I got acquainted with my new friends I realized that I cant judge everyone by their looks. But I still didn t listen to my self.
