Horror is enthralling
Meeting with fear-causing sensations is a thing that most of us consider as fun entertainment. Facing states of horror frightens, but at the same time interests us. What matter behind horror actually gives one such satisfaction?
Going downtown and seeing a horror movie on a friday night is extremely common, especially for the youth. Statistics show that scary films are take indisputably a very, if not the most popular movie genre. Experts have always disputed about what gives horror its charm, but for my opinion it is our plain need for strong sensations.
What would be more entertaining than reading a frightening book in the evening or go and see the newest horror flick with your fellows? Watching or reading stories on butchers covered in blood or mysterious, supernatural phenomena boost the adrenal glands almost as well as sky-diving or mountaineering.
Youth as a word brings up thoughts like freedom, testing limits and such; it would be a wonder if a horror flick wouldn’t cause strong feelings in a young person. Despite this, I don’t think that horror is only aligned for teens, quite the opposite actually. This genre is diverse and caters for a variety of tastes. And indeed, it is enthralling.
