Those Winter Sundays Review
The poem of ?Those Winter Sundays? has a very interesting and peculiar ending. The author of the poem leaves the ending open. By an open ending I mean the author ends the poem with a question. Since the poem ends in this fashion it makes it hard to interpret.
At the end of the poem it says ?What did I know, what did I know?. This is a hard line in the poem to understand. In a way the author is telling a story of his former child hood. The child hood of the author was a tough one. He was raised by a neighbor who loved him as their own. I am sure he had to ask him self if he knew what love was all about. Where are my parents and why are they not here to show me their love?
The author was setting a tone for the poem. He was taking what he knew about love in his own life and applying it to his poetry. He was looking back at his own life and saying what do I know about anything. On the other hand, the repeated phrase also sounds a note of defiance. The author may want to defend his child hood.

Jane Erye Essay, Research Paper Jane Erye’s Life So far I have been able to compare Jane Erye to life today. The beginning pages describe this part of Jane’s life as cold, dark, and alone. The lines about of winter in Bewick allude to her life at this time, “centuries of winter…of extreme cold…Of these death-white realms I formed an idea of my own: shadowy. ” She is like the rock standing up alone in a sea of billow and spray; the broken boat stranded on a desolate coast; to the cold and gastly moon glancing through the bars of a cloud at a wreck just sinking.” As I first read this I thought of Jane as the moon looking throught the bars, like later when she is locked in the red room.” No jail was ever more secure,” then I thought that the cold and ghastly moon was Mrs.

Lady Of Shalott Essay, Research Paper FALL For me the fall is an exhilarating time of year. A time of change, an in-between period of muddled and varied weather. For others who view fall as a short time before a dreary winter, fall takes on a less colorful face. Alfred Lord Tennyson uses fall metaphorically throughout “The Lady of Shalott” to illustrate how the Lady of Shalott’s life (or lack thereof) progresses.
