If I were to base my decision on the presentation of the opposite sides of the case, I would have to rule against Brown. Her argument lacked sufficient support and explanation. Furthermore, her proposed solution was very eluding for it would not solve the problem of segregation and racism. Dividing school by districts does not change the fact that the school standards need to be raised. Furthermore, the black population is likely to concentrate itself in a different neighborhood, then the privileged whites. Thus, those in power could redraw the districts as not to upset the current state of segregation. On the other hand, segregation is a federal issue; therefore, it should not be left up to the states to decide how the educational system should work. Thus, my final decision is based on what I believe is best for the country, and that means, that the federal government should interfere and bring down the segregation. Ms. Brown should be allowed into the school of her choice, where the standards meet her abilities and rights.
