Monet Essay, Research Paper
Claude Monet was born in Paris on the 14th November, 1840. For
much of his childhood, Monet was considered by both his teachers and his
parents to be undisciplined, and unlikely to have any success in his
life. The only subject which interested him was painting. By the age of
fifteen he was already receiving awards for his art work.
In 1862, Monet went to Algeria for a year with a prestigious regiment.
The landscapes and colours of Algeria changed his perspective of the world,
and had a great effect on him.
After the completion of his painting Sunrise, Monet moved back to
Paris. Monet had constant rejection and had no money, and none of his
paintings were known. So Monet developed a new style of painting,
impressionism. Impressionisma is a style of painting using short strokes of
bright colors to represent the effect of light on objects.
Finally Monet had became known. However not because he was
a spectacular artist, but because of the people he knew. Monet had
become financially secure for the first time in his life. Monet devoted himself
to gardening which in return gave him the idea for his last and most
important work, the Water Lily Pool . Monet was working on this project
from 1900 until his death in 1926.
In my opinion I think Monet’s work influenced a new style of art. I
also think his style of painting was original and creative
