Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Essay, Research Paper
If you take a close look at your own behavior you will probably come to the conclusion that some of the things you tend to do are a bit obsessive. We may check several times throughout the night to make sure a door is locked, or we may avoid stepping on cracks in the sidewalk. We all tend to have some forms of obsessions. Obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors cross the fine line between a normality and a disorder when they become so persistant that they interfere with the way we live or when they cause distress. For example, checking to see if a door is locked is normal. We may have been in a rush while entering our home and have forgotten if we locked it or not. Checking to see if the door is locked twelve times throught the night is not normal. It is obsessive.
