L?adolescence de Danny Morrisson
L?adolescence est une phase tr?s importante de la vie humaine que tous les gens traversent au cours de leurs ann?es. Dans le roman ? Le cave ? ?crit par Paul Kropp, l?auteur nous pr?sente un adolescent nomm? Danny Morrisson qui lui, vit sa vie de tous les jours sans rien s?avoir du futur. Cependant, est-ce que cette vie est typique pour un adolescent de quatorze ans? C?est ce que nous tenterons de d?montrer en ?tudiant les points suivants : la vie ?coli?re, la vie familiale et la vie affective.
Parmi toutes les situations mentionn?es pr?c?demment, l??cole est l?endroit o? il passe le plus de son temps. Le cheminement de Danny vers le grand monde des adultes d?bute par ses inqui?tudes pour sa r?putation, les professeurs et les confrontations. La r?putation et ce que les gens pensent sont d?une tr?s grande importance pour Danny car il ne veut pas ?tre trait? d?un cave. Dans le m?me ordre d?id?es, il est tr?s inquiet des r?actions des autres ?l?ves lorsqu?il arrivera en classe avec ses nouvelles lunettes. Il ne veut pas qu?ils rient de lui. Derni?rement, il veut ? tout prix se procurer de nouvelles bottines car les lui font tr?s honte. Les confrontations pour Danny sont in?vitables, surtout avec Ron Masten. Danny ne se laisse tout de m?me pas faire peur par Ron quand il lui donne un avertissement dans le corridor. Ron devient violent et remet souvent les choses ? plus tard. Il provoque toujours Danny et c?est ? la derni?re provocation que Danny a c?d?. Danny ne veut pas ?tre prot?g? par un professeur, pour lui c?est extr?mement humiliant. Deuxi?mement, il ignore Mme. Eidelstein, tr?s commun chez lui, lorsque elle lui rappelle qu?il doit se procurer un nouveau cadenas pour respecter les r?glements de l??cole. Pour tout dire Danny consid?re les maths comme sa mati?re favorite; ? Je les aime en partie car j?y excelle? ? avoue t-il. (p.23) Ag? de quatorze ans, Danny vit une vie scolaire tr?s typique.
Lorsque Danny quitte l??cole, il se rend ? un endroit o? il rencontre encore plus de probl?mes, la maison. La situation familiale de Danny comprend la violence, l?amour entre fr?re et soeur et puis la s?paration de ses parents. La violence, commune chez les Morrissons, se fait surtout entre les parents, mais aussi entre parent et enfant. Non seulement qu?il y a de la violence verbale et mentale mais physique aussi. Le p?re de Danny est alcoolique et frappe surtout sa m?re quand il est sous l?influence. Les probl?mes financiers de la famille entra?nent souvent des gestes et des paroles plut?t violentes. Lorsque le p?re de Danny entre chez lui, il fait remarquer ? sa femme qu?il a re?u la facture pour les cadeaux de No?l. Le tout finit en chicane physique et Danny finit par dire ? son p?re que ce n??tait rien. La m?re de Danny est violente elle aussi car quand Danny l?embarrasse chez l?opticien elle lui donne une giffle. Secondement, les relations entre fr?res et soeurs sont bonnes. Danny est tr?s d?sappoint? avec sa soeur qui fume constamment de l?herbe et qui sort avec un gars qu?il a surnomm? Bob le Pouilleux. Comme tout grand fr?re, il est gentil avec son petit fr?re, Jimmy. Quand il ne peut pas dormir, Danny lui r?ussit ? l?endormir. L?impression de Hulk de Danny aide ? r?conforter Jimmy, surtout quand leurs parents viennent de se chicaner et finalement quand ils se s?parent. Danny essaye de ne pas montrer d??motion mais c?est difficile pour lui. Jimmy le trouve tr?s fort ?motionellement mais il lui explique : ? Je garde ?a en-dedans, c?est tout! Mais ?a fini toujours par ?clater. ? (p.94).
Lorsque les probl?mes deviennent tr?s graves il peut se r?fugier dans le c?t? affectifde sa vie. En dernier lieu, il y a le c?t? affectif de la vie de Danny qui comprend son ami Bloop, son professeur Major Henry et sa copine Samantha Morgan, qui compte pour la partie la plus importante de sa vie. Premi?rement, il y a son meilleur ami, Bloop. Lui et Bloop se confient, comme par exemple quand Danny avoue ? Bloop qu?il aime Samantha Morgan. Danny et lui sont de tr?s bons amis et ils se respectent, mais parfois il y a des exceptions. Comme quand Danny arrivait ? l??cole avec ses nouveaux verres et que Bloop s?est joint au rire des autres. En second lieu, le Major Henry, le professeur favori ? Danny, jouait un r?le important dans sa vie d?adolescent. Le Major a laiss? passer la tricherie de Danny pour Samantha et lui donna une le?on de vie au lieu de le p?naliser grandement. Ou bien quand il remarque de l??tranget? chez Danny il s?assoit avec et en discute assez profond?ment. Henry ?tait comme un deuxi?me et meilleur p?re pour Danny. Lorsque le Major est d?c?d? Danny fut boulvers?, car il ne s?attendait surtout pas ? cela. Pour en finir, Danny ?prouve beaucoup d?affection pour Samantha Morgan une fille de sa classe. Cette relation commence par l?innocence et se termine avec un peu plus d?intimit? . De plus, Sam est capable de le r?conforter quand ?a vient ? sa famille. Il se sent tout ? fait confortable avec elle ? la fin et elle de m?me; ? Sam me fit une bise au t?l?phone. ?(p.105) Le c?t? affectif de Danny joue un grand r?le dans sa vie.
En somme, il est ?vident que Danny aime et ?tudie comme tout autre adolescent typique. Les r?putations, les confrontations, la famille, les ami(e)s et les amours sont des probl?mes et des joies communes chez les jeunes adultes. Il s?inqui?te, mais reste sans objet aux difficult?s qui lui sont pr?sent?es. Ses nouveaux sentiments plut?t superflux lui sont ?tranges mais il lui deviennent plus familliers jour apr?s jour. Apr?s toutes ses exp?riences de jeunesse, qu?est-ce que Danny deviendra comme adulte? Restera t-il avec Samantha ou se trouvera t-il quelqu?un d?autre? Ces questions nous laissent qu?? y imaginer
