?The Cell Phone, and its downfalls?

Have you heard of the cell phone? A great technological advancement to many people right, or is

it? Imagine you talking on a cell phone with one of you closest friends. Then your phone starts to break

up, and then you are disconnected from the person you were talking to. This is only one of the many

disadvantages of owning a cell phone. When owning a cell phone the most common disadvantages are

the cost, the problem of unclear reception, and the accidents caused by the cell phone.

Cell phones might be a great asset to people who have the money to purchase one. Unfortunately,

many people are unable to purchase cell phones because of the cost of the phones, and the outrageous

phone bills. I?m sure you?ve heard the great slogans saying , ?Thirty-nine dollars per month and the

phone is free,? but that?s not the case at all. The advertisement might mention that great deal, but it

forgets to mention all the other extra items that you might have to pay for. For example, the

advertisement forgets to mention about the activation fee. In addition, how many minutes you will have to

use and how much will the phone bill be in a month?s period. After you have figured out all the extra

items that you will have to purchase for you phone, you?ll realize that the free phone deal wasn?t as great

as you thought. In addition to how much you will spend to get your wonderful cell phone, there are also

the cell phone bills that you will have to pay for. While you find out that using your cell phone to call

many people while on the go is very convenient, you are unaware of how much you?ll have to pay for all

those calls. I have a cell phone, and I am allowed to use a total of three hundred minutes a month. To

many people this might sound like a lot of minutes, but it does go by fast. In my case, those three hundred

minutes did go fast. The slight information that I was unaware of was, if I did ever go over the three

hundred minutes, I?d be paying a thirty five cents a minute rate. This thirty five cents a minute rate

totaled out to become a pretty high price. So as you can see, there is a lot of money spent when buying

yourself a cell phone.

The irritating sound of unclear reception is also a major problem with the cell phone. Many

times when using a cell phone, there tends to be some sort of static sound in the background. That is one

of the most annoying things that can happening when talking to a loved one, or even a friend. You start

having a great conversation only to be interrupted by the uneasy static sound. You might think that a

irritating static sound is the end of your problems, but it?s not. I have encountered bell sounds, long break

ups, and also and occasional screech. Many of the phone out in the market today, have their own sort of

reception defect. Although many companies have the speculation of having clear reception, I assure you

that all cell phone will more than likely have this problem.

Do you know how cell phones can cause accidents? Not many people look at accidents as

something that you can relate when owning a cell phone. Nevertheless, people should be aware that the

cell phone can cause serious accidents, and bother many people. I have been a witness to one of the most

serious accidents by a cell phone. There was an incident where a man driving his car to work, was

interrupted by his cell phone ringing. Unfortunately, when trying to reach for his cell phone, the man was

unaware that in front of him there was a car slowing down to make a right turn. As you can probably

picture the outcome of this incident didn?t turn out very good. His cell phone ringing caused a very

severe car accident, which had the driver of both cars hospitalized. On the contrary, this is not the only

serious accident caused by cell phones. I work at the emergency room at St. Petersburg General Hospital.

Patients are notified never to answer a cell phone while in the emergency room. In the event that a patient

ever answers their cell phone in the emergency room, there is a very good chance that heart machines that

are active will malfunction. These are the two only serious incidents that I have come across dealing with

cell phones. This might even make you think twice when answering your cell phone, it may hurt you or

even others.

High pricing, unclear reception, and serious accidents are only three of the many complications

you might have when buying a cell phone. I personally have a cell phone myself, and I can tell you it?s

not all that I expected at first. So maybe, just maybe, you?ll think twice before purchasing one of the

world?s most technological advancements, the cell phone.
