В том же году "Cure" совершили глобальный тур в компании с " Siouxsie and the Banshees".
В конце 1979-го после выхода сингла "I'm a Cult Hero" из "Cure" ушел Демпси, присоединившийся к "Associates".
Альбом 1985 года "The Head on the Door" оказался самым "попсовым", но несмотря на это, присутствовал в британском Топ 10.
В 1987-м группа записала эклектичный двойник "Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me", сопровождавшийся четырьмя хитовыми синглами ("Why Can't I Be You", "Catch", "Just like Heaven", и "Hot Hot Hot!!!").
