Переломным в истории "Blind Guardian" стал третий альбом коллектива, "Tales From The Twilight World", вышедший в 1990 году. Успех "Tales From The Twilight World" был развит и преумножен на следующем альбоме "Somewhere Far Beyond", сделавшим команду известной во всем мире и позволившим добиться большой популярности в Японии, где и был записан выпущенный на следующий год концертник "Tokyo Tales".
В 1995 году фаны наконец-то увидели следующий долгожданный номерной альбом - "Imaginations From The Other Side", последовавший за синглом "A Past And Future Secret".
